Ron Blais, Advisory Committee Member

Ron Blais is the former Principal Trumpet/Trumpet Soloist of  The United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C.  Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Ron moved to the Bay Area to embark upon a free-lance career. He has performed with virtually every orchestra in the region, including musical theater. He has performed in "Wicked," "Les Miserable," "Edward Scissorhands," and many more. Last year he was Acting Principal Trumpet of Symphony Silicon Valley.

He enjoys recording for the film and video game industry with the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra. He is an active brass clinician and  coaches local youth bands and orchestras. He is currently Vice-  President of Musicians Union Local 6, American Federation of Musicians.

Ron lives in Benicia with his wife Jan who is the Principal Clarinetist in the Golden Gate Park Band.
