Daly City AllStars have played continuously since 1910—until the COVID hiatus. Under the auspices of the Daly City Department of Recreation (since 1992), the band typically performs only twice a year. Traditionally, the band has met nearly every Friday year-round, to sight-read from a collection of over 2500 works under a rotating cast of directors.

We were inspired to select for today a program of all-Italian music—of which there is a great deal of wonderful material! Our opening march was the Italian national anthem from Italy’s unification in 1861, to the 1946 institution of a new republic. And for our closing number—if it’s good enough for Pavarotti at the 1990 World Cup Final, it should be suitable for us.
